Per Ölund

Swedish-born, world wide spread artist who currently lives a withdrawn life on a farm in the region Halsingland, Sweden.

Olund was born in 1955. Begin his career in the theater, switch and began to paint. In 1981 he received a Bachelor of Arts from The Royal College of Fine Arts in Stockholm.

Olund has been described as: "savage furious and dynamic, absurd or even - in a constructive sense - 'mad'".

He combine porn, humour, horror, and dazzling beauty in his journey
into the male sexuality. A warning is suitable: some of the images on

Olund has cooperate with for example zoo-keepers, children, the
Institute of Technology in Stockholm, composer Anders Hillborg and
other artists of diverse kind, for example Ossian Humble
www.ossianart.se , in order to enter deeply into the complexity of the
human nature.

Olund was one of the drawing card artists in the very first exhibition
in Sweden raising money for HIV-research.
In Marie G. Darin´s film about Per Olund he passionately talks about
elk-droppings. "If you paint them in cute colors, they look exactly
like candy."

Olund has made book -and magazine illustrations, designed CD-covers and create scenography for television productions. He has also written articles in diverse subjects and has won prestigious prizes as a writer. Recently he was one of four jury members on www.indizoo.com

Olund is represented in a number of private collections in Sweden and in the rest of Europe (Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lituania, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland) and in the USA (Houston TX, Austin TX, Palm Springs CA, Colorado Springs CO, Buffalo NY), Indonesia (Jakarta) and China (Beijing).

Olund has had approximately fifteen solo exhibitions since 1982. Olund is listed in the swedish artist lexicon "Konstnärslexikon" and have done commissioned works.
